About Library
Indian Law Institute's Library established in
1956, is one of the leading law libraries in Asia and
attracts scholars from all over the World for legal
research. The University Grants Commission has recognized
the library as a place for legal research leading to
doctorate degree in law and political science. Every year
thousands of law researchers from different parts of the
world visit the library for research. The Judiciary, Central
and State Government officers, various Embassies and High
Commissions in Delhi have also been using the referral
services of the Library.
For policy formulation, Library is having a
Library Committee consisting of 10 members, which include
Hon’ble Judges, Attorney General of India, Solicitor General
of India, Senior Advocates, Professors, Director, ILI.
The library offers its services practically
throughout the year. It remains open from 9.00 AM to 8.00 PM
on week days and from 10.00 AM to 5.30 PM on Saturdays and
from 10.00 AM to 2.00 PM on Sundays. It remains closed on
National and Gazetted holidays.
